Haunted by ghost notes

• May 15, 2013 - 12:16

Hi, hope this isn't a retread of an old problem, but: somehow, a lot of my Contrabass (pizzicato) notes turned into ghost notes with an "x" note head. There seems no rhyme or reason to the notes selected, rather random. I'm using MuseScore 1.3, Windows 7 64-bit Pro, and mostly very happy with V.1.3. If anybody has a fix for this it would be greatly appreciated; I can't seem to change the heads back by indiv. right-clicking for note properties, right-clicking for staff properties and editing drums -note head groups for each pitch, or switching off "use drums" altogether (never "used" drums on bass staff anyway, it's a default select, it appears). I doubt a screen shot wold help, you'd just see a bass line with "x" note heads interspersed here and there.
Thanks for your help,
realself

The MuseScore file would help. But as a wild guess

  1. Go to Display -> Mixer -> Uncheck drumset for the contrabass staff or right click the staff -> staff properties -> uncheck "Use a drumset"
  2. Right click on any note, select -> select all similar elements. Open the notehead palette and double click on the normal notehead
