More dynamic Note Input Mode

This feature request is about a more dynamic way to enter notes in breaks or empty measures.
Currently, when you want to add a note in a break or empty bar (which is just a bigger break) you have to change the length of the break first.
However, note input would be faster if the break was split into two parts by the note input cursor hovering over it.
Examples can be found in the attached images. The idea is that the bar changes dynamically as the cursor hovers over it, until it reaches the desired position. With a click, the note is the entered. The length of the sub-breaks the original break is split into should be based on the length of the note which is entered.
