Pianoroll Editor?

I notice that there is an option to open the "pianoroll editor." I do see a pianoroll, but I haven't been able to make any edits. The documentation doesn't discuss this feature.

Is this pianoroll supposed to be an editor, or just a way to view the score? Is there some way to edit in the pianoroll?

There is no way to edit things in the piano roll in 1.3

But I believe there are plans for this to be a feature of MuseScore 2 when it finally gets here.
