Export Musescore file to Rosegarden format

Recently, in the page http://musescore.org/en/node/20747 I read the following
comment by Marc Sabatella:
"If your main goal is to hear playback exactly the way you want, you will
have to use a program that specializes in playback. For example, you could
export you score to a MIDi file then load it into a sequencer proram, then
fine tune the dynamics and articulations using direct MIDI adjustments. "
That's exactly what I do currently! I type my music in Musescore that allows
better visualization and control over the sheet music, export them to midi and
edit them in rosegarden. But this is a laborious task because I have to
export each voice in a different track, otherwise rosegarden doesn't display
correct duration of several voices in the same track. Furthermore when
importing from midi rosegarden doesn't display correctly double dotted notes,
half notes tied to eighth notes and many other details. So after importing
the midi I have to review the whole composition.
Because of that I would like to ask about one idea I have in my mind:
Is it possible to create a function in musescore or a plugin that export
musescore to .rg format?
Even though it might take some work it could create a bridge between the most
powerful free score editor and the most powerful free sequencer.
It would not be necessary to export all the notation information present in musescore to rosegarden because rosegarden is limitted as notation editor but very powerful as sequencer. It's able to interpret dynamics, hairpins, emphasize the first note of a measure, add and remove midi controllers and almost anything one could imagine with midi. So if Musescore could at least export the notes directly to .rg format and perhaps some basic symbols (e.g. dynamics, tenuto, staccato, crescendo and diminuendo) it would be enough to make that integration easier.
I posted it in Feature request but I don't if it would be easier done as a plugin or a feature, so I wait for feedback from those who have a deeper knowledge of musescore structure than me.
Thanks.

It seems that Rosegarden can import MusicXML. So if you want the notation to be preserved, you could try to save your MuseScore file to MusicXML and import the MusicXML in rosegarden.

Thank you for the idea. I really tried it using a single staff score with a single voice in it. But I don't know why when I import it to rosegarden in the event list all notes are there but in the notation editor they don't appear and when I try to select any part of the staff in notation editor rosegarden crashes. So importing from midi still works, but importing from xml doesn't even work in rosegarden.
PS: I tried to load the exported xml back into musescore and musescore recognized it. The xml really works but not on rosegarden.

Sorry for the incovenient. I had a config problem in my linux user and rosegarden's notation editor was not working not only with imported xml but with no file at all. After I reset all my user configs notation editor works again.
Thank you Thomas. Your idea was great! Exporting xml from musescore and importing it on rosegarden really works! The only problem I got was that with multi-voice staves rosegarden crashes when importing. But this is simple. There's a video online teaching how to split a multi-voice staff into different staes in musescore. I do this and everything is perfect. Thanks!
