System Spacing

I'm setting a version of the Welsh Hymn "Guide me O Thou great Jehovah" for 4 Male voices. In bars 9, 10 & 11, first (top) tenors sing a separate format(?) and so I entered the words for the 3 verses as lyrics and then moved the words above the notes. I then entered the word for the remaining parts also as lyrics and noticed that the lyrics started on line 4 and not line 1 as I wished. So again, I moved the lyrics up the page but still between the two staves. That has left me with a large gap between the bottom of the lyrics and the Bass stave.

How can I remove/reduce that gap?

Or should I be entering the two sets of lyrics in a different way?
