Plugin idea! MP3 accompaniment
Hey, I just found this app a while ago, and I'll say it's just awesome! This is honestly the easiest way to write music ever! But I thought of something that could come in handy. What if there was a plugin that could play an MP3 at the same time as the music, so you can transcribe a piece of music you'd made and exported from another app? And now that I think about it, it could be a lot more useful than that, like playing a complicated rhythm you recorded, or adding lyrics! What do you guys think?

How would it be better than an external mp3 player?
Well, there are two answers depending on who's using it. Someone using it to transcribe music could find it useful to sync playback so they can hear their mistakes easier, and someone adding mp3 tracks for lyrics would want them to be synced too, and when you export the song, they should be part of the same file too. Not everyone knows how to mix two tracks of audio together, and some projects can involve adding to an mp3 like sheet music written in Muse playing alongside a recording of someone singing.

If Jack Transport was implemented, using MuseScore in conjunction with any Jack audio player application (most Digital Audio Workstation software, for example) would give you - almost - exactly what you desire. See #13962: Jack Transport? You'd still have to fiddle about to get the tempi right.
Honestly this would be great for many reasons... I know im 2 almost three years late posting on this, and I am looking for a plugin. but I want to do a Disney marching band show, and I would like to include some audio for Disney movies.... it would be wonderful if there was a plugin so I could just add the sudio to the musescore file.

That is not really the matter. The idea is that you can play back music synchronised in MuseScore. Adding external Audio can easily be done by exporting the file and then adding it together with a tool like Audacity.
