So there's no way to input drum quickly via the (computer) keyboard? Only mouse?

Sure there is :)
Create a drum staff and right click on it -> Edit drumset. Go through the list and choose your shortcuts to enter the different kit elements. Using voices and shortcuts you should be able to use the keyboard to enter a drum score.
