Online resources not visible in menus

Sometimes I see pages getting created or modified that I can't find in any menu, or some new user comes online only to modify a main page or create a new page either by accident or for nefarious purposes. Recent case in point, the FAQ pages being created by Chen. How come I can't find them anywhere, nor can I update them?
