Using letters instead of notes
Hi there,
as you can see from my nickname here, I am a drummer:-).
The easiest way to teach drummers drum ist to put in R for Right hand or L for Left hand instead of notes.
How can I use R and L instead of a c or any other note ?

Replacing notehead could be done but it will be a hard job. You can hide a notehead with right click -> make invisible. Then select it, Ctrl + T, enter R and reposition the text on the notehead.
If it's only for snare exercice purpose, you might want to add the R/L below or above the notes instead and then use lyrics (Ctrl + L). See for example

Hi there,
thanks a lot - I always did it, like you suggested it - putting the r and l right above the note. I thought that it would be a default function to use letters instead of notes.
Maybe in a next version?

Some drum notation systems indicate sticking by the direction of the stem.
Down for LH and Up for RH
