Header/Footer text editor
Under Style→General→Header/Footer I find a text editor for each footer/header. However, there is no 'Apply' button, not even a 'Close' button. Manually closing the window dismisses all changes...?!

I've found that it dismisses all modifiers (bold, underline) but not the text changes.

(not new). Two steps:
Style → General → Header / Footer write the text;
Style →Text → Header - edit.

How do you enter a multi-line copyright, using bold, italics and other modifiers? The way you described won't work.

True! In reference to the original question: Header, it works as described.
Multi-line copyright: text changes do not work, as you say.
(Can I use a trick? Horizontal frame + text)

(please check) to apply the changes to the copyright: Style / Text> Footer

Problem, now all line separators are lost. Enter a multi-line copyright, exit out to score. Now go back and check the copyright text, all the line separators are gone.
