Playback issue

• Jun 8, 2014 - 14:23

I'm re-setting music for a 4-part male voice choir and have an issue with play back.

I have a song with 3 verses set to Handel's "March from Scipio".
V1 is split in two and uses bars 5 to 13 and repeats those bars, that repeat plays back fine.
v2 is bars 14 to 28 plus a volta, first-time ending, bars 29 and 30.
v3 is bars 14 to 28 plus a volta, second-time ending bars 31 and 32.

What happens when I play back is I get bars 14 to 28 just once followed by bars 31 and 32. I NEVER hear bars 29 and thirty, nor do I get the repeat of 14 to 28.
I've tried all sorts of Volta settings and repeat measure settings but am totally lost.

What is it that I'm missing and/or done wrong? Anybody point me the correct direction?

Summary:
What I want is:
bars 1-4--Intro
bars 5-13 first part of verse 1
bars 5-13 second part of verse 1
bars 14-28 second verse
bars 29-30 end of second verse
bars 14-28 third verse
bars 31-32 end of third verse

What I get
bars 1-4--Intro
bars 5-13 first part of verse 1
bars 5-13 second part of verse 1
bars 14-28 second verse
bars 31-32 end of third verse

How did you get the first repeat (bars 6-13) to play correctly?
I used Ewart's file 'In_the_Name_Most_High.mscz' and tried to fix it.
My attempt is attached: 'In_the_Name_Most_High broken repeat.mscz'
Upon playback, the first repeat is omitted, yet my score looks the same as yours (In_the_Name_Most_High 1.mscz).

BTW: In my 'broken' score, the second set of repeats work. (Also, I increased the tempo to save time when playing the score.)

Kindest regards.

or what I have messed up?
I had the doubt that to some measures it was weird (maybe too many changes), and I erased and rewritten the last four;
I deleted the barlines and I reinserted them.
I'm sorry to be inaccurate ... I do my best.

I started with Ewart's original attachment and could not get the first set of repeats to play back.
Your score plays correctly, although you show a repeat at the very last measure of the score (the final measure of the 2nd ending):
NOT FOUND: 1

I have moved the repeat to the first ending (meas. #30) and all seems well during play back!
Must have been something with the barlines, as you say, maybe too many changes...

Regards.

An error of manipulation is the cause of this problem (placement DS and Segno on repeat bars?). In fact we must remove all indications of repeats, save and close the file ( the anomaly seems to persist if we do not do this ). Reopen and replace repetitions (especially without placing sign Segno). In principle everything works normally.
