CLP 545 MIDI controls

I've got the MIDI interface working now; the driver from Yamaha wasn't loading for some reason.

The question I have now concerns latency; the noise from the Surface tablet is a way behind the moment I press the keyboard key.

I was wondering if, instead of turning Local Control to Off (which quietens the piano) I could turn Muse Score off so it added the notes I play to the score but didn't sound them?

What do people think?
