Percussion Set

Hi gang!!!

I wonder why not always we can get the percussion sound we want with the "Instruments" panel.

I mean... Let's say we want to use a crash cymbal. Well, we choose "Cymbals" from the "Orchestral Instruments" set. Then (to test the sound), we choose a second sound, the "standard" "Percussion Set", again from the "Orchestral Instruments" set.

Now, we have two staff. One with 5 lines (Percussion set) and another with just 1 line (Cymbals).

But... If we use the "MuseScore_General.sf3" or, my favourite, "GeneralUser GS Musescore v1.442.sf2" soundfont files, we know there is more than one cymbals sound into those soundfont files. And, I think it is the same with other soundfont files (I'm not 100% sure, but...)

However... We can not get more than one cymbal sound in the dedicated 1 line staff to Cymbals. It just let us to select one sound and we can not to change this sound. Simply... There is just one sound (MIDI patch) there.

I wonder... Why is this???

Wouldn't be nice if we could use all the available cymbal sounds in that staff???

It is the same with other percussion sounds.

I think it would be better we always have all the percussion set sound possibilities whatever the instrument we choose and use. MuseScore just has to put the rhythm notes into the 1 line staff regardless our selection.

Just my humble opinion.

Blessings & Greetings from Chile!!!

JUAN
