Sextuplets Not Appearing Properly

• Jun 27, 2018 - 13:45

After importing a MusicXML file, sextuplets I had written are appearing as 3 + 3, despite the crotchet (quarter note) being beamed together. The beam should appear with a single '6' in the middle.

I know how to make different kinds of 'irrational' note duration from scratch with the Note Entry tool, but is there a way of editing my group of notes so that they appear properly as a single sextuplet, rather than two, semiquaver (1/16th-note) triplets?

MuseScore doesn't change what it reads from MusicXML. This means that what you're feeding it is not a 6-let but actually 2 triplets.

Unfortunately MuseScore has no way of converting one to the other, besides you manually removing the triplets and then enter the notes again as a 6let.
