MS asks for access to calendar and contacts when saving a file (MS3)

In the process of reporting "Strange (internal?) file names showing (MS3)" I tried to save one of the strangely named files through File/Save As (see attached).

A window popped up asking for permission for MS to access my calendar (also attached). After that, it asked for access to my contacts (not captured).

This has happened once, and I have not yet been able to reproduce it. But it does strike me as very odd.
