Playback Trouble

I've been using MuseScore for a year or so now on my laptop, but ever since I upgraded to a PC, I've been having problems with MuseScore 3. Whenever I'm using the application, I have no option to play whatever music I've written. The playback tool bar is visible but all of the options are grayed-out. This only happens when trying to play music I've written though. If I download a score someone else has written off of muse score, I'm able to play it without any issues. I've tried installing the latest update and I've even reset MuseScore to factory settings, but neither have fixed the issue.
