Unchecking "Play" for accents doesn't work.

I was working on a lead sheet, and I wanted to add an accent to a note to let whoever's playing know that it's supposed to be emphasised, even though it's the last eight note of the measure. When I added it, the playback made the note really loud, so I tried unchecking the "Play" box in the inspector, but the playback was the same. It works fine with other articulations like staccato, but for accents, it's still played louder than other notes. I also tried the accent-staccato, and unchecking the play box only turned off the staccato, but the volume of the note was still the same.
