Sound Problems

I seem to have the same problem as others and no permanent fix seems to be available. I lose sound when playing back. The only tging that can restore it is by reverting to factory setting which is a pain. But then when I reload a song the next time I use MuseScore, it's gone again. Tried all the fixes on the forums... reducing volume resetting stuff. Nothing! Please help! I'm about to give up and go back to MuseScore 2!
