MS 2/3 style fermatas issue

Briefly, I created a file in MS 3 before deciding to revert to MS 2 for awhile. I just converted the MS 3 file to MS 2 (by exporting it as .MusicXML and opening it in MS 2) in order to make changes to it in MS 2.

Upon doing so, I noticed that the style of fermatas of MS 3 must be different than 2.0. So I deleted a fermata in order to use the MS 2 style. But, and this is very strange, MS 2 (at least is THIS file) is now only giving me the MS 3 style fermata! I can’t insert a MS 2-style fermata, even though I’m working in MS 2! (I can, however, in other MS 2 files that I didn’t convert from MS 3.)
