Transposed instruments (or how to clarify the "Real Sounds " button)

• Apr 26, 2019 - 19:55

Hi, gang!!!

I use MuseScore 3.0.5 (not the Portable AppImage) in Ubuntu Studio 18.04.2 LTS (64 bit Linux).

I wonder if, to help about the not easy world of the "Transposed Instruments", the development team could add a visual indication in the Status Line (a second note name inside parenthesis) when we use some of those instruments.

Example: If we are using a Bb Clarinet, and we are using the Concert Final Presentation Mode (not real sounds to the transposed instruments), then each time we put the cursor arrow above a note (and click on it) in the staff of that specific instrument is, today we can see the name of the note to the Bb Clarinetist but not the real note (sound) the instrument is playing. I'm asking to add to this name note the real note (sound) the instrument is playing, inside parenthesis.

So, if today we have (let'say) a "C5", my proposal is we could see "C5 (Bb4)".

I hope I used the right words to express my idea.

Just an idea...

Blessings and Greetings from Chile, South America!!!
