How do you tie 2 notes if there is a single half note rest in-between it? (See the picture if you don't understand)

Hello Please help me so i want to tie 2 notes but there is a single half not rest between the notes i want to tie so whenever i try to tie it ,it always ties with the rest in the middle then the note i want it to tie and i should not delete it also because if i actually delete the rest the note above it in the treble cleff will disappear so how how do i tie the 2 notes without tie-ing it to the rest???Please help if you're wondering what song it is, it is Dahan by December Avenue
