Instrument
So far, musescore has done a good job for me, however I would like to change the playback voice from a piano or guitar pluck to organ, violin, or flute. Is there any way to do this on a pre-existing score? The instrument change feature prints the word "Flute" over the selected note, but the playback voice is unchanged.
Please forgive my ignorance, I'm a beginner.

Use the Mixer (F10) to change the playback sound in the Patch property.
To listen to a score with a different "playback voice", you can change the instrument sound (patch) in the Mixer, see:
