Custom time signatures

In MS2 it was possible to right click on a time signature, go to Time Signature Properties, and enter a valid character (or several) into the left-hand text box of Appearance, and delete anything in the right-hand box in order to get a custom vertically centered signature (e.g. C, cut-C, or 4). This doesn't work in MS3: the original denominator (2 in the example) would show up on the staff (giving, say, a time signature of C/2).
In MS3 one has to create a signature in the Master Palette containing a space in the r.h. box, because it is not possible to enter a space in Time Signature Properties. Furthermore, custom signatures without denominator (originally created using Properties) do not appear correctly from scores written in MS2 and read in MS3.
This gives the following problems
- having to create different time signatures that look the same in the Master Palette, such as 4 representing 4/4 and 4 representing 4/2;
- being deprived of the more convenient Time Signature Properties method;
- the aforementioned issue that pieces written in MS2 are not represented correctly in MS3, which can be very tiresome if one has a lot of early music pieces posted on the internet, and doesn't show MS in a good light if the pieces are not re-edited.
Solution(?): allow a null denominator field to work the same way as a space; or if that's not possible, allow entry of a space in T S Properties (this doesn't address the MS2/MS3 issue, though).

2)
A signature with custom text does not show correctly if immediately followed by a multi-rest.
How to test this: on the Untitled score that comes up when MS3 is loaded, enter a time signature (4/4, say) in bar 3. Then use Time Signature Properties / Text to set the original and the bar-3 signatures to something else (doesn't need to be sensible, but if nonsense offends then use 2/2 or 8/8). Then press M to get multi-rests ... if nothing happens, press M twice more. Then on the time signatures will show up differently depending whether M is set or unset.
