Count-in problem

• Oct 9, 2019 - 16:49

I am trying to use MuseScore as my orchestra while I rehearse a concerto. In two of the movements the orchestra and soloist need to start togther on beat one of bar one and so I am trying to to use the count-in facility (button with the conductor's hand and a baton on the play panel). However, the sound of the first count-in beat is what can only be described as a fart and it tickles my British sense of toilet humour so much that I can't play for laughing. Is it possible to change it to something a little less flatulent?

I'm not very familiar with digestive problems. It isn't possible to change the sound of the metronome. Could you explain which sound do you want to hear for the count in? Are you aware to change the rhythm by adding a tempo text? Alternatively add a pitched percussion and hide the staff, which sounds more pleasant (=gentle to the stomach) for you.

For me I don't hear any differences between 3.3 RC and 3.2.3 (I hear the same sound - wood blocks should be the correct description) - using Linux. AFAIK the metronome sound is "build in" inside the code, doesn't work like a sound font, which is available to change a sound. Reminds me on a feature request with a similar discussion of the possibility to export the metronome sound as mp3.
