Musescore Static

Whenever I open Musescore, every bit of audio becomes static. This also happens to other applications after I open Musescore. I always have to restart the speaker drivers and my laptop before even spotify can play without continuous loud static.

Does anyone have a fix for this or should I find a different notation application?
