Two parts playing with different time signatures e.g. 6/8 and 4/4

Hi, I'm trying to organise a counterpoint, setting a 4/4 melody against a 6/8 tune.
At present, it seems as though any time signature has to apply to all staves. Is this right, or is it possible to have different time signatures on different staves?

Thanks so much, kuwitt.
I learned that I had to click into the first bar itself, rather than onto the original time signature. Then it worked perfectly. In our amateur orchestra, we're combining Drunken Sailor (2/2 or 4/4) with Greensleeves (6/8), and I wanted to copy it for our flute group. Sorted now! Thanks again. Mike
