Configuring and using midi out

I'm having trouble configuring musescore to send midi to my DAW, and would like a hand with that configuration. I'm on a Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6.

I've read https://musescore.org/en/node/208986, and followed its instructions. My configured preferences are in the attached screenshot: . The instrument in my score is configured to send midi on port 1, channel 1. Volume is 100, Pan is 64.

In Audio Midi Setup, I've created an IAC device with one bus, and it's enabled:

My DAW is configured to listen on all devices and channels, although I've also tried selecting specifically the IAC Device and Channel 1. My DAW does receive signals coming from other sources (like a midi keyboard).

So I'm looking for any suggestions to find where this is breaking down, and ideally how to fix it.

Is there a way to see inside MuseScore what midi signals are getting sent out? Any way to look at the IAC device and see if midi signals are getting sent through it? Clicking the "Test" button there hasn't done anything for me. Anything else I should check?
