Percussion Glitch!
I am currently working on a task to arrange a new version of Waltzing Matilda, and one of the requirements is that it has two untuned percussion.
I added the claves, and it worked perfectly.
Then I added the slit drum, and I was no longer able to edit any of my percussion!
I can still edit my Bass Guitar and Piano, but I cannot complete this assessment without the two percussion instruments.
How do I fix this bug?

Take a look at the attached (I added a tool and removed the problematic one)

I added two instruments "Claves" and "Slit drum";
I deleted the old "Claves" and "Slit drum";

Thanks for all the help, Shoichi! Finally got it working.
And thanks to ChurchOrganist for bringing up the system specs, without which we would still be scratching our heads.
