Beam properties in 6/8 time
Hi. When I enter eighth notes in 6/8 time, they are automatically grouped into two sets of three beamed eighth notes. Does anyone know how to change this to three sets of two beamed eighth notes?
Any information would be appreciated. Example score attached.
Thanks,
Brent

Are you sure you wish to break the "two beats, each divided into three" feel of the 6/8 compound meter?
Have a listen to this - with the metronome activated during playback: Wa Kalulu3.mscz
BTW: The metronome is found on the playback toolbar:

Thanks so much. I'm a beginner. I'm writing African marimba music and I want to practice playing the same notes grouped different ways in the same score. I did this by changing the time signature (see attached).
Thanks again!

In 6/8 yes, in 3/4 no. You get the 1/8 note ticks by inserting a tempo marking with 1/8 = BPM where BPM = 3 x BPM for dotted quarters. See also https://musescore.org/en/node/304412#comment-994924.
