mid staff drumsets

I set up a pair of drumsets (standard, standard 1) for mid-staff sound change. It works fine but isn't midi exportable. The midi file lists the drumsets correctly but only plays the last one listed, or if you change channels, it reverts to bank 0 and plays piano. This leads me to wonder how fluid can make the patch change but it isn't exportable. What am I not doing?
