inserting A different value note linked TAB and Treble Clef

attached are two screenshots:
A and B

A is a simple arpeggio with 1/8 notes.
however on the B string when ever I [play the note on that string
I want to hold it until next play a note on that same string
(i.e. for a half note value)
Meanwhile on other string (in between those changes on the B string)
I want to play a series of 1/8 notes.
(The idea is that the B string note continues to ring until next played - i.e. I want
to hold that note)

Screenshot A is all 1/8 notes
Screenshot B is what happens when I try to place a half note on the B string
(in this case a C note = 1st fret B string).

Is there a way I can have the have note held on the B string
and meantime play 1/8 notes on other strings until I return to the B string?
