Of the Editing of Brackets
By which method, if it exists, may someone alter or edit a bracket in such a way, so that the bracket is invisible, and only invisible in a single system?

What you could try as a workaround is attach a staff text with a white background to the first element in that measure. Disable autoplace for it and position it over the bracket to sort of "paint it away".
