Question on how to add a bass note equal to one note in a triplet

• Jun 16, 2020 - 19:45

I'm transcribing a piece of organ music, I started off writing it using a 4/4 time signature and triplets based on how someone else transcribed this piece, but I don't know how to add a note their version left out. I interpreted the bass note to last the whole measure except for the duration of the last note in the triplet where the bass note changes. In the attached picture you can kind of get an idea of what I'm after, but I don't want it written as 2 voices.

The correct way to write it would be a dotted 1/2 note followed by a triplet taking up that last quarter. In the triplet start with a quarter, which is tied to the previous note, and then write down your final 1/8th of the triplet.
