Putting an anacrusis into the body of the comp.

Hi There
I am writing sight singing exercises and need to write a tonic chord bar and a starting note bar c..then have the facility to put an anacrusis bar in ....Is this possible ? I can fake it by making the rests invisible in the printing but this looks awkward ...any chances ??
