I have a score that was incorrectly ported to Musescore
I can't seem to fix this one measure in question. The time signature is 4/4 but musescore seems adamant on adding an extra (3/4) of a beat to the measure when I turn the highlighted note in the screenshot to a 16th note. I want that note to be played at the same time as the last note played by the left hand but there seems to be no option to move it. This is in the middle of an otherwise complete song so I would like to avoid rewriting the whole thing.

If you attach your score, we can actually inspect what is going on.
However, turning that note into a 16th doesn't normally add time to a measure (unless in some corruption cases). Note on that screenshot that the additional time to your measure is already there.
Moving a note then should be as easy as cut and paste; not quite sure why this wouldn't/shouldn't be possible for you here.
