MXL file problem

Previously I created a Musescore score and had no problem changing it into a MXL file. Then several days ago I updated my MacOS to Catalina 10.15.7. And now I am unable to create an MXL file to share with others. When I attempt to open the MXL file on my desktop it opens a blank score in Finale and gives me an Error message saying it is not an MXL file and that there is a Finale Error ID=-3.

Can anyone help?
