Tuning plugin (by Bill Hails) - doesn't show up

• Feb 14, 2021 - 20:52

Hi, everyone.

Does anyone use this plugin (https://github.com/billhails/MuseScore-plugins/tree/master/src/Tuning)?

I've put it with my other plugins (Mac: Users > Documents > MuseScore3 > Plugins). It is 57K, and is titled "tuning.qml"

When I open MuseScore > Plugins > Plugin Manager, it's not there.

Can anyone help? Thanks. I wanted to write to the author (Bill Hails), but I can't find an email address.

Thanks!

David

Make sure to get the 3.x version if you're on MuseScore 3.
I can state that it does show up for me in the plugin manager on MuseScore 3.6.2 on Windows.

Try loading it with the Plugin Creator and see if any error messages are shown in the log at the bottom of the window when trying to run it from there.

jeetee, thanks for your help. I have the 3.x version of the plugin (https://github.com/billhails/MuseScore-plugins/tree/master/src/Tuning/3…)

I had to try several times to get it to show up, but now it does.

Do I need to do something else (load other files?) in order to hear the difference?

I created 4 measures having the same major chords (C major), and 4 measures each having a C major scale.

I assigned each of these a different tuning, but playback sounds identical for all them them.

When I ran it on a selection, to tune to "Just" intonation it did apply the tuning offset to the selected notes. You can verify this by selecting a note after having run the plugin and then check the "Tuning" value under the "Note" section in the Inspector (F8)
