Changing the interface language

• Oct 14, 2008 - 20:36

Hi,
I am using MuseScore 0.9.0on Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 64bit using the .deb-package from the official ubuntu repositories. I have 2 accounts: one is french and MuseScore shows the interface in french. That's great. But the other account is chinese and shows the MuseScore-interface in english.
So, my question is: Is there a way to change the interface language in the chinese account to french? (My chinese friend speaks nearly no english, but french very well). Changing the settings in the regional settings in kcontrol to "1. Chinese, 2. French, 3. English" in the order of languages to use didn't help. I also could not find a config file in the home folder to change it there.
Thanks for helping me.
Best regards

Galen

Several options :

  • Upgrade. Version 0.9.3 has a language switcher feature in the preferences menu.
  • Or try to tweak the environment variable LC_ALL
    • Open a terminal
    • export LC_ALL=fr
    • mscore
