Dividing beams

Is there a way to divide notes that Musescore joins with beams? If I input two 1/8 notes, it automatically creates a beam to join them. Sometimes that's ok, but more often than not, I'd like the notes to be 2 separate notes. In the score I'm attaching, measure 6 and 8 are examples of this. There is also a couple places where a 1/16 note is followed by two 1/8 notes. It used a beam to join all three notes together. Any input would be appreciated.
