changing from two staff piano part to single staff in the same part

I am putting together a combo chart that starts with a two handed funk groove. I need that played verbatim, but there are large parts of the chart where it swings and the pianist just needs a single staff with a melody and chords....can I transition within the same part from the two handed portion to the single line (like a lead sheet) and then back?
