have to press space bar after a period or comma twice to get one space
In the dialog boxes (not lyrics), for example copyright or arranger or short instrument name, if I have a comma or a period, I must press the space bar twice to set a single space. I can do this. It is not a big deal.
But I would like to know, "is this by design?" If so, I am curious as to the logic.
Is it a fluke that should be reported as a bug or feature request?

Is your picture taken from File -> Score Properties...?
I encounter no such issue. Works fine for me.

Mojave had double-spacebar problems, has Big Sur too?

I don’t know about Mojave space bar problem. Bunt space bar works fine everywhere else.
