Copy/paste with two time signatures

I'm typing out an orchestral piece in 6/8 with flute and 1st violin annotated in 2/4. I've typed out the flute line and want to copy/paste to the violins but keep getting an error message "Please select the complete tuplet/tremolo and retry the command". Is there any way round this or do I just have to type everything in twice?
