Musescore Crashed and Now I Can't Open My File

All I was trying to do was add another 32 bars to my composition and add a few notes but for some reason MuseScore couldn't handle that and now I can't open the file. I can open all the other one's just fine just not this one. I have been working on this piece for weeks as part of my portfolio to get into music school so if I loose this forever I say goodbye to my future because I can't just rewrite it. I saved every five minutes on that piece yet somehow in Windows it says that there are no previous versions. I'm screwed. I need help ASAP. I've looked through forums of people who have had the same issues but I still can't comprehend the "solutions".
