deleting unneeded measures
I have not found MEASURES under the Edit menu. Where do I go to delete un-needed measures?

just select them and press CTRL+Delete. Or if they are all at the end go to the Tools menu and click Delete empty trailing measures without selecting anything.
"Remove Empty Trailing Measures" is under "Tools", not under "Edit".
