Adding an accent - More Info

Hello - a gentleman had answered an earlier question about why I am unable to add an accent using various ways (including Shift V) that "should have" worked. He requested I attach my score - that's here. In addition, I'm attaching a screen shot - I suspect that I've accidentally toggled something the wrong way. Thank you in advance for your help!
