No Sound
Suddenly I don't have sound when adding notes or during playback. The notes are highlighted as usual but there is no sound. I've looked at responses to this but am not a tech person and don't know what I'm supposed to do. The only thing I can see is to do a factory reset. I'm not sure how to do that, or if I'll lose the piece I'm working on. Any suggestions?

Try toggling the MIDI input toolbar button twice.
Reset to Factory Settings does not remove any saved scores from your pc.

Thank you, that worked. I've used MuseScore for years and always had sound, so I don't know what I did, but I appreciate this simple solution!

What that did (internally) is refresh the list of audio devices available to MuseScore.
One of the more common reasons for losing sound in which this fix works is if you're on windows and your PC went to sleep. When waking up again, Windows checks and re-enumerates the audio devices. In some cases this means that the audio device MuseScore was referring to now got a different "number" (so to speak).
But due to a incompatibility in the code MuseScore uses to access your audio devices, it doesn't pick up on this new "number" for the audio device.

That link shows a list of things you can try.
If you have trouble with any, please return here and explain which one you are having trouble performing.
Also, what's your OS (operating system) and what version of MuseScore?
