Notation jumps/repeats question
Confessed newbie here, trying to learn Musescore along with good notation. I'm trying to write out a friend's song (with permission) with the following basic sequence: Intro, Refrain, Verse1, Refrain, Verse2, Refrain, Verse3, Refrain, Refrain, Outro
The problem I have is the verses have different notes and durations, so using voices makes it pretty messy to read, and add lyric text. Writing it out as separate verses is fine, but I can't figure out the jump notation for proper playback sequence. If I add Segno to the refrain, and D.S after verses, playback doesn't jump to verse2 after 2nd refrain. I don't think voltas help me here.
Should I abandon playback concerns and use rehearsal marks for flow control notes, or is there really a proper use of notation repeats/jumps to achieve this?
I'd appreciate your patience and your advice,
Dave

See the attached example.
Just be aware that playback in MuseScore is currently identical on each repeat.

Thx for the response Jeetee - Interesting use of measure play count - I wasn't aware of that feature, thanks! However, this plays the same verse multiple times, which would work if I could use voices, but doesn't help with the fact that each verse (in this case) has different notes/durations, which causes a really messy sheet unless written out as separate.
Are there any approaches to handle that scenario? Thx.

In this case (hidden) volta's might indeed be of help for this specific roadmap.
