Imported PDF won't auto tab for guitar.

Hi Philip,

You added an unlinked guitar tablature staff, so you could copy the notes from the treble clef and paste to the tablature staff. But the you still have unlinked staves, and you must remember to keep them manually sychronized.

If you want automatic linked tablature the simplest solution is:

• Select the entire top staff of your score
• Copy
• New>Guitar + Tablature template
• Add a one beat pickup measure (to match the one at the start of your score)
• Click in the first measure and paste

That should do it.

Follow these steps if you want to add "automatic" tablature to your existing score:

First convert the upper staff "Voice Oohs" to a guitar instrument
• Right click the staff and click the Instrument button
• Choose Acoustic Guitar (NOT "Acoustic Guitar tablature") or Classical Guitar, or Electric Guitar
• OK the dialog
These steps are necessary before you can add linked tablature.

Set the treble clef to 8vb.

Then:
• press i (for the instrument panel)
• delete the exiting tablature staff
• Click the Staff 1 (on the remaining staff,entitled Voice Oohs)
• This enables the Add Linked Staff button.
• Click the button.
• Staff 2 is the linked staff
• To make it a tablature staff click the Drop Down menu that says Standard
• Then choose any of the "Tab-6" tablature styles

You can refine the styles from there.

Because the staves are now linked any changes made the the treble clef pitches affect the tablature, and visa versa.
