Laggy, Glitchy, Buzzy, and other serious playback issues.

Starting playback takes a solid 3-10 seconds before actually starting, and on top of that it usually buzzes a little; Stopping playback lags the entire software for usually 1-3 seconds and plays a horribly buzzy sound afterword; Clicking on a note doesn't play the said note; When using a MIDI controller to input notes the voiced notes that were inputted sound terrible. Restarting audio and MIDI devices fixes all of these issues, however I can no longer use my MIDI controller to input notes which is crucial for my writing. Restarting the program after restarting the audio and MIDI devices just starts everything back at square one; I have tried every combination of audio interfaces and restarting and device restarting to no avail. These problems occur on all scores, and had only started happening after I got my AudioBox USB 96.
Edit: All of this occurs if I have my MIDI controller plugged in when I start the program, so it must have something to do with that.
