Removing unneeded staves

I tried to search Removing staves, but could not find an answer. I have a song with intros and instrumental sections where I would like to remove the vocal staves. It is already 5 pages long, which is unmanageable on a music stand. Any other hints to reduce the page account but still be readable would be much appreciated.
